Who the course is intended for
This course is aimed at students who have completed the course of Croatian, Upper Intermediate. Otherwise the placement test will be required.

Teaching will use the communicative approach. Lectures will enable students to acquire communicative, grammatical and cultural competences. Topics will be presented through contemporary authentic texts. The Advanced Intermediate level includes the understanding of topics (listening, writing of comments and short essays on given topic), the enrichment of vocabulary (phraseology, lexemes, collocations, verbs in context), speaking acts in different situations, learning of grammar (syntax, lexical exercises) and orthography, and the acquiring of cultural competences about Croatian culture (author’s texts on different aspects of Croatian culture).

Assessment
Optional test in TCD. On successful completion of the test the Department will issue students with a certificate of attendance.
