Vern : Greetings, I hope you can advise or perhaps redirect me. I am researching Afghan rifle production ca 1893 January 14, 18 at 22:09 and stymied by two inscriptions on rifles and cannons produced from 1893 to 1910 in Kabul. I don't have text of the inscription, only a graphic extraction in .png or .jpg form. Can you refer me to a site or person who might help identify the language and possibly translation? It appears ancient or highly stylized Urdu/Arabic and has stymied most native translators. One speculation is that is spells "Jangalek" - a location in Kabul, but I have my doubts. Write a comment ...
