Leeds Beckett University Dual Degree Programme Conditions and Fees: The students who fulfil the IELTS conditions may have a second diploma by the Leeds Beckett University on condition that they take courses at Leeds Beckett University during their last year and pass the courses successfully. A minimum of 6.0 IELTS or 79 th TOEFL score is required to qualify for the degree and study the senior year (4 year) in Leeds Beckett University. In this programme, the students are also supposed to pay a tuition fee to the Leeds Beckett University. Double Major Programme: Our students can earn another degree via our dual degree programme by enrolling for a programme, which is accepted by the related committee, from the faculty within the home university. Minor Programme: Our students can also have a minor in another programme which is accepted by the related committee at the home university.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS Internship Opportunities: In our department, there is no obligation for internship. However, the students who seek experience are supported and they are provided internship opportunities. Also, their SSI premiums are paid by the department during their internship. So far, many of our students do internship in big corporations such as Aksa Akrilik Chemical Industry Inc., Akkim Construction Chemicals Inc., Assan Aluminum and Özdilek Textile Industry Inc in the region. Student Exchange Programmes: Our department provides many opportunities for the students who want to spend a part of their student life abroad. National Exchange Programmes: FARABİ programme provides opportunities for the students who want to broaden their vision, meet different academics and schools. Within this programme, the students may take half or one year courses in another university in Turkey, provided that the education language is completely English. International Exchange Programmes: Our undergraduate and graduate students may spend a part of their university life abroad, especially in the U.S. and European countries via ERASMUS, MEVLANA and other bilateral agreements. Development Seminars: Seminars and workshops are organized regularly by the department in order to get our students prepared for the professional life. Through these seminars, professionals share their knowledge and experiences with our students. Entrepreneurship Supports: In accordance with the agreements with East Marmara Development Agency (MARKA) and KOSGEB, our students can get applied entrepreneurship trainings and also benefit from the entrepreneurship supports provided by KOSGEB. Vision Tours: Our students take the opportunity to recognize the companies and economic institutions through our “vision tours” organized by the department. Student Clubs and Activities: There are more than 60 student clubs within University of Yalova. Our students may take part in these clubs actively and may have chance to apply and improve the organization and communication skills they have acquired from the courses. Library: Our library collection consists hard copy books about sciences, engineering, foreign languages, social sciences, law, and so on and e-resources which provide off campus access. Health and Nutrition Services: There is a free clinic based at the Safran Campus for our students to receive basic medical treatment and psychological consultation. In order to decide the areas to specialize in, first determine your interests and abilities. Create an account in professional social websites such as LinkedIn and Research Gate. Start creating a professional CV. Keep your eyes open for any internship opportunity. Attend as many seminars and workshops as possible. Be aware of what’s going on in the business world and try to follow trends.
