STRATEGIC AGRIBUSINESS & PROJECT MANAGEMENT BACKGROUND & SITUATION The agrifood system, strategic asset of the Country, is a sector that has its strong tradition. It has succeeded in adding value to its quality products as well as recognized beyond national borders. The process of production and distribution of agrifood products involves a remarkable portion of the Italian economy representing the 13,2% of the employed ones (3,3 million workers) and the 8,7% of the PIL (119 billion euros). Many integrated enterprises operate in different supply chain: farms, food processing industries, wholesalers, retail distribution, catering operators and enterprises that offer essential services as transport, packaging, logistics and capital goods for agriculture and food industry. The definition of the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and the start of the 20142020 planning of Rural Development Policy, with a financial allocation destined to Italy for a total of 20,85 billion euros in seven years (+6% in comparison to 2007 -2013 planning), they represent a system of opportunities. The agrifood sector is also dictated by the entry of new entrepreneurial and managing figures more likely to the research, the technological development and the innovation, recognized by the UE as pillars for the spatial development and vital conditions to get products of quality and competitive in a sector that is more and more geared towards the foreign market.

OBJECTIVES Agriculture proves itself to be a developing sector for employment, with +35% of young workers in 2015 compared to 2014. People under 34 who work as farmers, in family companies or as partners in farms, have exceeded 50,000 units. This master has been designed with the purpose of acquiring knowledge and skills that may be spent in the world of work, through the direct experience of specialists in sector. Lectures provide the right clues to identify the critical factors of the Italian food chain and transfer substantial inputs about product and project management, marketing strategies and export paths to attendees. These aspects will result in strengths for companies where the master’s attendees will be employed at the end of the training course.
