CHAPTER II METHODOLOGY

LABELING OF THE ATTRACTIVES OF THE OPERATION ZONE.

ROUTE OPTIONS

Once done the corresponding raffle, I was assigned the task to do the adventure tour in the Pichincha and Imbabura provinces. This tour will count on the presence of three Norwegian visitors. In order to do this correctly, it was necessary to develop three route options, and chose the most fitting for the present research. The goal is to develop an adventure tourism that the Norwegian visitors could be able to perform. For this, the differences between the Norwegian adventure tourism and Ecuador´s had to be taken into account. As a result, the following activities were found in Norway: whale-seeing, hiking, canoe navigation, and, kayaks. (Noruega Aventura, 2016). On the contrary, in Ecuador can be found the following: Canopy, Tubing, Rappel, Cycling, the Chocolate Tour, late-night walks, birding, rafting, etc. Once evaluated this differences, it was decided to create a route that would represent to these tourists new and exciting adventure options in Ecuador.

OPTION 1 QUITO – PIMAMPIRO – MINDO – QUITO In order to develop this route, is necessary to follow the next Schedule: Departure from Quito to the North, to have a 3 hours ride until reaching the city of Pimampiro. Here you can find exciting activities such as: Canopy and camitas, etc. This is a very comfortable place to stay the night. The next day, we would be heading to Mindo, to continue with the adventure activities offered there, like: Tubing, Cycling Chocolate Tour, a Tarabita ride, and others. Then, late in the afternoon, enjoy a delicious lunch and go back to Quito.

OPTION 2 QUITO – PULULAHUA – CHOTA – QUITO In this route, we will get out of Quito with the Pululahua in mind. During the trip, we will make a stop to visit the Mitad Del Mundo city, where we will find the ethnographic museum. Here we will be able to observe the great diversity of cultures within the country. Next in our schedule, we will go to the Pululahua, where we will have a walk to visit the geobotanical reserve and admire the wonderful orchids that grow here. We will have an accommodation in this place. The next day, very early, we will head to the Chota, at the north of our country. Here we will perform the activity of
