The  mission  of  the  SBIR  program  is  to  support   scien#fic  excellence  and  technological  innova#on   through  the  investment  of  Federal  research   funds  in  cri#cal  American  priori#es  to  build  a   strong  na#onal  economy.     The  SBIR  program  goals  are:     }  S#mulate  technological  innova#on.   }  Meet  federal  research  and  development   needs.   }  Foster  and  encourage  par#cipa#on  in   innova#on  and  entrepreneurship  by  socially   and  economically  disadvantaged  persons.   }  Increase  private-­‐sector  commercializa#on  of   innova#ons  derived  from  Federal  research   and  development  funding.
