Police searching for 47-year-old man in hit-and-run Chris Fox, cp24.com Published Saturday, December 8, 2012 6:43AM EST Last Updated Saturday, December 8, 2012 7:21AM EST

Police are hunting for a 47-year-old Toronto man after a stolen vehicle being pursued by officers mounted a sidewalk and struck three pedestrians in midtown Toronto Friday afternoon. The black Mercedes was involved in a theft at a Winners location in the Laird Drive and Eglinton Avenue East area at around 1:30 p.m. At around 2 p.m. the officer spotted the vehicle stopped at an intersection at Broadway Avenue and Yonge Street and attempted to apprehend the driver. According to police, the driver then sped ahead swerving in an attempt to hit the officer.

The vehicle lost control and struck the pedestrians on Yonge Street north of Eglinton Avenue a short time later.

Pedestrian struck to be released from hospital tonight

The suspects, a man and a woman, subsequently abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. PHOTOS

No information on the female suspect has been provided by police. Steven Paul Brunswick is wanted for attempted murder, theft of vehicle, dangerous driving and failure to remain. He is described as a white male, six-foot-one, about 220 lbs. with grey and black hair. One of the pedestrians was rushed to hospital, but was determined to have minor injuries and was released Friday night.
