Numerical Methods with MATLAB: Implementations and Applications is a textbook for third and fourth year undergraduates in engineering and science. The book uses MATLAB, a software tool that supports both interactive computing and structured programming. Basic numerical methods common to many applied computing tasks are provided as MATLAB programs (m-files) that accompany the book. The methods are demonstrated with numerous examples. In each chapter the m-files are applied to practical problems in engineering and science. Users can download the programs one at a time, or as a complete archive. PDF versions of the Preface, and Table of Contents are available. A substantial amount of supplemental material for instructors and students using this book is also available on this site. An errata page is being maintained to track errors in the text and the m-files. Summary statistics: 786 Pages, 144 Examples, 381 end-of-chapter Exercises, 137 Figures, 102 Program Listings. The clock on the cover was made by Rasmus Sørnes. For years it was part of the collection of the Time Museum in Chicago. In January 2001 the collection of the Time Museum was moved to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry (CMSI), which created an exhibit displaying several of the clocks. According to the CMSI web site, this exhibit is now only available as an archive.
