Description Olympic Games Mexico 1968 Silver Winner medal pin - Official winner pin for a winner medal (bronze) which belonged to East German gymnast Erika Zuchold. She won it for reaching the third place in the gymnast team event at the Olympic Games in Mexico 1968. Bronze, 2x1.2 cm. Minimized winner medal with symbol for gymnastics. Winner pins came with the winner medals in 1968. The were officially presented at the award ceremony. Even the cases for the medal held a special place for the pins. Most of the pins got lost however so they are absolutely rare. Erika Zuchold, née Barth, (1947-2015) is a former East German gymnast. She won four silver medals and one bronze medal for East Germany at Olympic Games. Zuchold became universally known for being the first woman to compete the flick-flack element on balance beam on the 7th June 1964. At the World Championships in 1970 she won gold at Vault and Balance Beam and silver in the Individual All-Round. She was sportswoman of the same year in East Germany. She quit her career after the Olympic Games in 1972. PLEASE NOTE: in case we register a bidding for the complete collection of Erike Zuchold (see lot number 1), this item will be withdrawn and attached to lot number 1.Siegerpin 1968 - Offizieller Siegerpin zur Siegermedaille aus Bronze der DDR Turnerin Erika Zuchold für den 3.Platz im Turnen Mannschaftswettbewerb der Frauen bei den Olympischen Sommerspielen in Mexiko 1968. Bronze, 2x1,2 cm. Verkleinerte Siegermedaille mit dem Symbol für Turnen auf der Miniplakette. - Die Siegerpins zu den Siegermedaillen 1968 waren offizielle Bestandteile der Siegerehrung. In den Etuis ist eine Aussparung für diese Siegerpins vorgesehen. Meistens gehen dieser Siegerpins jedoch verloren und sind deshalb absolute Raritäten!!!! Erika Zuchold, geborene Erika Barth, (1947-2015) ist eine ehemalige deutsche Kunstturnerin. Sie gewann bei Olympischen Spielen für die DDR vier Silbermedaillen und eine Bronzemedaille. Weltbekannt wurde Zuchold durch das Element Flickflack (HandstützÜberschlag rückwärts), das sie am 7. Juni 1964 als erste Turnerin am Schwebebalken zeigte. 1970 wurde sie Weltmeisterin im Pferdsprung und am Balken sowie Vizeweltmeisterin im Mehrkampf. Dafür wurde sie im gleichen Jahr zur DDR-Sportlerin des Jahres gewählt. 1972 nach den Olympischen Spiele beendete sie ihre sportliche Karriere.
