Closing remarks and farewell Fabrizio Drago

This 2-day teaching course will be focused on the clinical management of various types of arrhythmias encountered in the paediatric patient and young adult with and without congenital heart disease. Emphasis will be placed on the practical aspects of common problems encountered day-to-day by the practicing paediatric cardiologist to highlight each of the clinical problems with state of the art lectures given by experts. Fellows in paediatrics, cardiology and electrophysiolgy should attend this course. Different issues will be discussed • decision making in commonly encountered arrhythmias in children and adolescents with reference to current guidelines and consensus statements • past and future role of ablation therapy and 3D systems efficacy in paediatric patients • management of electrical and structural cardiomyopathies including the value of genetic testing, risk assessment and the treatment appropriate for the individual patient • management of early postoperative tachyarrhythmias in the young as well as risk stratification for patients with late ventricular arrhythmias • best techniques for implantation of pacemakers and ICDs in the small child and in the patient with complex congenital heart disease • role of cardiac resynchronization therapy in the patient with and without congenital heart disease. GENERAL INFORMATION DATE AND VENUE: 22-23 September, 2017 - Auditorium San Paolo , Viale Ferdinando Baldelli 38 - Rome, Italy CALL FOR PAPERS: The council of the AEPC working group of pediatric dysrhythmias and electrophysiology wants to offer the opportunity to young scientists in this field to present their data on current research projects in order to stimulate the community. Presentations should refer to original material which should not have been presented or published as a whole prior to the course in a peer-reviewed journal or on an international scientific meeting. Course participants are encouraged to submit abstracts (Word document including title, authors and affiliation, text including Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions limited to 350 words) related to research in pediatric and congenital electrophysiology for consideration of the outstanding Young Investigator Award. Abstracts should be sent electronically to AEPCteaching.abstract.net after registration. The organizers will choose the best 3 abstracts for oral presentation as 10-minute-presentations during the teaching course. Deadline for abstract submission will be July 31, 2017. Authors will be notified upon acceptance no later than August 31, 2017. The faculty will select the recipient of the Outstanding Young Investigator Award and the winner will be honored with a complementary registration for the 52th Annual Meeting of the AEPC including the Gala Dinner. REGISTRATION: www.EPteachingAEPC2017.it Registration Fee: 300 €, Young AEPC Members: 250€. Registration fees include: • Admission to all scientific sessions, Congress material, Coffee breaks and Buffet lunches Online registrations will be open until the 20th September 2017. After this date, registrations can only be made on site.
