125th Anniversary Gala - November 2016 On November 5, 2016, hundreds of Seattle University supporters, alumni, faculty, staff, and students gathered to celebrate 125 years of generosity and service in style. The 125th Anniversary Seattle University GALA raised over $787,000 in support of student scholarships, empowering today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders. Over dinner guests heard from Gala Chairs, Anne and Bruce Blume, Seattle University President, Fr. Steve Sundborg, S.J. and Nancy Mariano, a computer engineering student and scholarship recipient. This year’s event also honored the university’s Jesuit community for the transformative impact they have had on students, faculty, staff, and the city where they were instrumental in building Seattle’s University. The 31st Annual Gala - November 2014 celebration at Seattle University’s 31st Annual Gala, and raised over $660,000 in support of student scholarships. Seattle’s own Michael Benson Band captivated Gala attendees as they enjoyed a dinner full of the best regional fare the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Chaired by Jim '69 and Jan '70 Dwyer and Melissa and Don '09 Manning, the event also provided an opportunity to honor Terri '67 & '89 and Joe '67 Gaffney with the St. Ignatius Medal, the university's highest honor. The medal acknowledges their tremendous contribution as alumni, and support and service to Seattle University, including their service on the SU Centennial Committee, the STM New Home Committee and creating of two endowments: the Patrick J. Howell, S.J. Professorship of Theology and Ministry, and the Loretta Jancoski Endowed Scholarship. The 30th Anniversary Gala - October 2013 What a way to celebrate 30 years of Gala Scholarships! On October 26, 2013, our SU community gathered to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of this important event benefiting student scholars. This festive evening gave Seattle University the opportunity to present its highest honor, the St. Ignatius Medal, to Ginny and John Meisenbach in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding leadership, service and support. The 30th Anniversary Gala, co-chaired by Lyanne and Bill Monkman along with Lisa and Bob Ratliffe, raised more than $840,000 for student scholarships. Guests danced to the musical mash-up stylings of The Company Men, delighted in a dinner menu inspired by the natural bounty of the Pacific Northwest, and learned firsthand what a Seattle University means for today's students who are committed to making a difference.

The 29th Annual Gala - November 2012 It was a night to remember as alumni, SU community members and friends gathered for good times and a great cause at the 29th Annual Gala on November 3, 2012. The black-tie event, co-chaired by Rod & Mary Jo Bench and David Rothrock ’91 & Kirsten Johnson, raised more than $674,000 for student scholarships. In recognition for his legacy of animating and advancing Seattle University’s Jesuit mission and identity, the university proudly honored Patrick O’Leary, S.J. with the St. Ignatius Medal. Gala-goers kicked up their heels to the music of Peter Duchin and his orchestra, enjoyed an exquisite meal, and celebrated the inspiring stories of Seattle University students. The 28th Annual Gala - October 2011 October 29, 2011 was a very special night as 850 supporters came together to contribute over $773,000 for student scholarships. Chaired by Maureen and Joel Benoliel, the event was a celebration of Seattle University, our students, and our special honorees, Jim and Janet Sinegal. The Sinegals were awarded the St. Ignatius medal for their outstanding contributions to the community. The musical ensemble Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, "America's favorite little big band," kept the room dancing with swing hits from the '30s and '40s.

The 27th Annual Gala - October 2010 On October 29, 2010, over 800 supporters came together to contribute over $639,000 for student scholarships. Chaired by Kathleen and Tom Schafer, the event truly celebrated the heart of Seattle University- its students. On this evening, Archbishop Alexander J. Brunett was awarded Seattle University's highest honor, the St. Ignatius medal, for his leadership, service and support. The Australian hit band Human Nature (http://www.musicmarketingtools.com/ecard/HumanNature/1/index.html) performed Motown Hits and had the entire room dancing!

The For the Difference We Make Gala - November 2009 On November 14, 2009, members of the greater Seattle community came together for Seattle University’s 26th annual Gala scholarship fundraiser. Gladys Knight had everyone up dancing, and the evening also afforded the opportunity to celebrate the generosity that led to the successful completion of Seattle University’s six-year fundraising effort, The Campaign for Seattle University: For the Difference We Make. The For the Difference We Make Gala, chaired by Joe and Terri Gaffney, contributed over $620,000 in support of student scholarships. On behalf of everyone associated with the university, we thank each of our sponsors and supporters for making a difference. The 25th Anniversary Gala - November 2008 On November 8, 2008, Frankie Valli, the man who brought to the masses such classic hits as "Sherry," "Walk Like A Man" and "Let's Hang On" was in fine form as he enlivened the crowd gathered at Seattle's Westin Hotel for the 25th Anniversary Gala. Along with the Four Seasons, Valli had the audience moving and shaking into the night.

The Gala, chaired by Albert and Vicki Rosellini, was a great success, attended by 920 friends, donors and supporters of the university with over $875,000 raised for student scholarships. The evening also provided an opportunity to recognize the work of Ann Wyckoff, who was awarded the 2008 St. Ignatius Medal. The honor acknowledges an individual who is instrumental in the progress of the university and inspires others through service and leadership.
