Bishop Barres’ statement regarding the election of native and former Allentown Diocesan priest, Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, as President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops ~ “The election of Archbishop Kurtz to this important leadership post by his brother bishops across the country is a point of pride for all of the faithful in the Diocese of Allentown where he served so faithfully for so many years,” said Bishop of Allentown John Barres, who was participating in the meeting in Baltimore at which Archbishop Kurtz was elected. “I look forward to working with Archbishop Kurtz as he serves the conference in its important mission over the next three years.”

The 25 Silver Anniversary Holiday Meal is being served by the Catasauqua Area Lions at St Paul’s Lutheran Church Social Hall, Howertown Road on th Saturday, December 7 , 2013, at 12 noon. The doors open for seating at 11:30am. Any early arrivals will have to wait in the vestibule. This is necessary to ensure that everything is ready for our guests. This meal is being offered FREE OF CHARGE to the seniors or members of any organization in all Churches within the Catasauqua or North Catasauqua Boroughs.
