Principal and Consultants PRINCIPAL MR JOHN WILLIAM BROOKS, MECST, B.COM, DIP ECON, MAIEX, SIA CERT, CERTIFICATE IV IN ASSESSMENT & WORKPLACE TRAINING John is a trade economist with a strong background in international economics, trade and finance. He has worked for banks, confirming houses and development financiers bringing to these organizations his vast experience in areas of international trade. In 1991 John established Auspacific Investments Pty Ltd which worked with aid bodies, governments and private sector corporate in the area of trade related activities. In the late 90’s John established the Auspacific Institute to cater for the continued requests for training in emerging markets and Australia. John Is respected in the international trade community for delivering high quality and subjective content in training courses, advisory and consulting and was for a number of years the Moderator for the International Trade & Credit Forum in Sydney. He is presently the Honorary Secretary of the ICC Banking and Practices Committee for Australia and Honorary Secretary of the Australian Incoterms Committee. John has also been involved in export and import activities over the years with export destinations such as Iran , Dubai, Kiribati, PNG and Fiji. He has also lectured at various Institutions and written trade related articles, particularly short form country risk reports. John is an emerging market specialist
CONSULTANTS MR HAMISH BAIN BAIN BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PTY LTD SDA, BECON, MECONST, FAICD, CQA, HON LIFE MEMBER CEDA Hamish has become, by building on qualifications and experience, a widely respected business economist with a background in business, finance, organizational management, project management, governance and economics. Since 1986 his work has been heavily involved in business and regional and rural development issues at a national level. Assignments have included, for example, Government National Competition Policy Reviews, cost benefit analysis, financial feasibility studies and government policy work. He has also coordinated workshops and conferences on economic growth and development and business issues and contributed to and edited related publications. Much of his work has involved working closely with businesses and communities, including remote indigenous ones, as well as with government and academia. He has over a considerable time, provided economic analysis and forecasts to clients at a national and international level. Hamish has served on and chaired government committees and held non-executive roles on private companies. He is an Honorary Life Member of the Committee for Economic Development of Australia (CEDA). Hamish has produced for CEDA in excess of twelve “Green Papers” on regional development issues and been a key speaker at many of their events. He also served as a summer semester post graduate course co-ordinator and lecturer in the faculty of Business Economics and Law at the University of Queensland since 2001 to 2009. He is a Past President and an Honorary Life Member of the Economic Society of Australia (Qld) Inc. and a Companion of the Queensland Academy of Arts and Sciences. MS JONIKA PAULSEN COUNTRY MANAGER, PRONAV LAOS B. EDUC., B.ARTS. CERTFICATE IV IN ASSESSMENT & WORKPLACE TRAINING Jonika has extensive experience in Capacity building training and advisory work in emerging markets and has worked closely with The Auspacific Institute on a number of Projects over recent years Jonika until recently was Managing Director of Capacity PNG Ltd which specialised in the designing and delivery of time management team building, customer service and continuous improvement seminars for supervisory staff throughout PNG. Jonika has been a corporate trainer for Price Waterhouse Coopers PNG and delivering corporate course around PNG in time management team building, customer service supervision, negotiation and human resource management. Jonika is an emerging market specialist In training and capacity building We look to working further with Jonika in 2012 on training consulting and advisory projects in Laos and the surrounding countries MS ELI WEBB B.BUS. CERTFICATE IV IN ASSESSMENT & WORKPLACE TRAINING Eli is Director and owner of Capacity (PNG) Ltd based in Lae PNG. Auspacific have been working closely with Capacity now for a number of years and we look to grow this relationship in the coming years.
