Eof the operations of the Muncy Oil Company, we find in the Luminary. ? liter the great freshet in the spring of 1865, .il oil made its appearance in springs of water, seven miles north of the Borough of Muncy. A company was formed to develops the territory.? h July last, they commenced sinking a well. At th depth of one hundred and fifty feet a small ?em of oil was struck ; another small vein was * !, at two hinidred and fifty feet; both I if these veins under the pressure of water id to flow.
