1.4 Plan Title: 2-2015: Formalize Learning Communities 1.5 Plan Objective: Formalize learning communities and expand across the curriculum to enhance student retention and completion. 1.6 Action Plan: I.1.1 Prioritize and design programs, initiatives, and systems 1.7 Plan Includes: Technology Facilities Equipment/Supplies Staffing

Justification for hiring: As an institutionalized instructional program designed for student success, it requires centralized and formalized coordination with administrative partnership and support, similar to the Honors Scholars Program. Within the Instruction division, faculty leadership should emerge from those steeped in knowledge and experience in teaching learning communities, hence the need for reassigned time and backfill (rather than hiring a new employee).
