dom ain of higher e ducation since the day of its inception in 1935, has achieved a significant
m ilestone in 2016-2017 academ ic session in the form of receiving laudable re-accreditation of A G rade aw arded by NAAC, Bangalore. This is, indeed, an encouraging recognition to the academ ic standard fo r this institution of 82 years legacy. W ha te ve r the college has attained today is actually propelled by hard w ork, devotion and unstinted com m itm ent o f the teaching and non-teaching sta ff o f the college. I also love to acknow ledge the com m endable role o f the students, guardians and alumni who have played a pivotal role to take this institution to an enviable height. G urucharan C ollege is perennially proactive in introducing new -subjects and various add-on courses, keeping in mind the needs and requirem ents o f its stake-holders in the context o f ever growing dem and of global education. Besides curricula aspects, the college is relentlessly striving to 'prom ote youth em pow erm ent and wom en em pow erm ent through som e of its w ings like NCC, two NSS units, Kiron-S ashi W om ens Cell and so on. The C areer G uidance and Placem ent Cell o f the College m ake available various career options and opportunities fo r the upcom ing youths. To instil a sense of com m itm ent to the social sectors, the E xtension Service Cell carries on activities round the year with active involvem ent o f the students and teachers. The presence of different research cells and centres in the college m anifest acum en and excellence of the faculties, the students and the teachers. The college is also going to introduce P.G. courses in certain subjects at the earliest. I
