Public Policy Institute (PPI)
NASP partners annually with the George Washington (GW) University Graduate School of Education and Human Development to offer a federal Public Policy Institute (PPI). This program offers an intensive learning experience that helps build foundational knowledge of education public policy and grassroots advocacy skills. Presenters include national leaders working in federal education and human service offices, Congressional committees and offices, research institutions, professional associations, and student-development organizations. Participants engage in reflective discussion, interactive activities, and enjoy a hands-on experience advocating on Capitol Hill. This program is an excellent opportunity for graduate students, school psychologists, school counselors, teachers, principals, and others committed to promoting healthy and successful students and schools.
3-Day Basic Training
Mon, July 16, 2018 - Wed, July 18, 2018 The 3-day basic training focuses on how federal and state education policy and grassroots advocacy shapes positive learning environments for all students.
5-Day Advanced Training
Mon, July 16, 2018 - Fri, July 20, 2018 In addition to all of the offerings included in the 3-day training, 5-day training participants will explore the theme in greater depth.
2-Day Special Topic Focus
Thurs, July 19, 2018 - Fri, July 20, 2018 Previous PPI attendees (starting in 2010) are eligible to attend the 2-Day Special Topic PPI. They are also welcome to join the Capitol Hill Day (July 18).
