COURSE ABSTRACT The purpose of this course is to improve beginner level learners' Spanish language knowledge to meet the Criteria Established by the EU. The course includes mastering basic vocabulary, grammar and culture issues at the A1 levels. The use of the communicative Approach fosters the improvement of Spanish language skills: 1) reading skills, 2) writing skills, 3) listening skills: understanding the teacher's speech in the context of the Acquired themes as well as audio / video recordings, 4) speaking skills. Authentic materials (incl. audio, video) foster the acquisition of the target language. El propósito de este curso es mejorar los conocimientos del nivel inicial de los estudiantes

del

Español para cumplir con los criterios establecidos por la UE. El curso incluye el dominio de las cuestiones básicas del vocabulario, la gramática y la cultura en los niveles A1. El uso del enfoque comunicativo fomenta la mejora de las competencias lingüísticas : 1) las habilidades de lectura, 2) las habilidades de escritura, 3) las habilidades auditivas: la comprensión del discurso del profesor en el contexto de los temas adquiridos, así como de las grabaciones de audio / vídeo, 4) expresión oral. Materiales auténticos (incl. audio, vídeo) fomentan la adquisición de las nuevas competencias.

COURSE OBJECTIVES Upon successful completion of the course students will have developed the following skills: Intellectual: • will acquire supplement knowledge of Spain, its residents and culture, • will be able to communicate in accurate Spanish according to the particular communicative situation, • will be able to work independently; Academic: • to acquire Spanish at A1 level, • to communicate orally in situations discussed in the course, • to work with documents written in Spanish;

Interpersonal: • to work in teams; • to understand the rules of the Spanish business communication; • to act in the international context. GRADING CRITERIA Obligatory attendance – minimum 70% of all classes. Criteria
