A Real Estate co-major or minor at VSB provides A Message from Associate Dean German students with an understanding of topics including (/villanova/business/undergraduate/message.html) real estate investment, development, modeling, capital markets, accounting and law, as well as the Degrees, Majors & Minors role of real estate in corporate strategy and the (/villanova/business/undergraduate/degrees.html) global economy. The curriculum connects Real Estate commercial real estate theory and practice through (/villanova/business/undergraduate/degrees/realestate.html) site visits, case studies, expert perspectives, and industry-standard software tools. Course projects include completing valuations for Minors for Non-Business Students actual retail centers and office buildings, and a capstone development project that (/villanova/business/undergraduate/degrees/minorsnonbusiness.html) includes site selection, market analysis, project completion, and resale. The Villanova Real Estate Society sponsors site visits, guest speakers, and other professional development opportunities. The Villanova Real Estate Challenge brings students from top schools to campus to compete in the nation’s premier undergraduate real estate case competition. The annual Commercial Real Estate Career Conference brings top employers to campus to connect students with career and mentorship opportunities. The Daniel M. DiLella Center for Real Estate sponsors special networking events, panel discussions, symposiums, and research projects to bring experts together to advance current topics and opportunities in real estate. Students are an integral part of all such thought leadership initiatives, and this exposure enriches their real estate learning experience.
Industry partners provide students with valuable professional experience through the Villanova Real Estate Internship Program. The Daniel M. DiLella Center works closely with the Clay Center to assist co-majors and minors in obtaining internships. While most internships are offered during the summer months, some opportunities are offered during the academic year.
