JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Receptionist Department: Administration Reports to: Campus Director Supervises: N/A Classification: Hourly

Status: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW: Handle reception area, and all incoming telephone calls and clerical work. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Greet and assist public cheerfully and enthusiastically. 2. Answers central telephone system and directs calls accordingly. 3. Receives the public and answers questions, in person and by telephone; responds to inquiries from employees, citizens and others and refers, when necessary, to the appropriate person, official or department. 4. Operates office machines as required 5. File progress reports, transcripts, ledgers and other types of documents in student files. 6. Prepares outgoing mail; sorts and distributes incoming mail. 7. Composes, types and edits correspondence, reports, memoranda and other material. 8. Assist all other departments in student enrollment and graduation processing. 9. Track students-pulling students from class to see Director or Administrative Officer. 10. Orders office supplies 11. Run errands-picking up supplies, mail pick-up and distribution when necessary. 12. Control reference library. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Customer Service 3. Must be able to work flexible hours. 4. Must have a valid driver’s license and legal/current insurance coverage on personal vehicle. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Ability to read, writes, speak and understand English fluently. 2. Ability to read, writes, speak and understand Spanish fluently. 3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel) and Outlook. 4. Must be customer service oriented. Ability to meet or exceed the company’s attendance and punctuality standards. Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently. Creativity and initiative. Ability to operate a computer and other normal office equipment. Must possess excellent telephone skills. Type 55 wpm accurately.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an e4mployee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
