RELATED RESEARCH TOPICS 1. Red Bull GmbH – Red Bull GmbH is a Austrian company which sells the Red Bull energy drink. The company is known for its sponsorship of a range of sporting events. In 2014, a total of 5.612 billion cans were sold in over 167 countries,10,410 employees generated €5.11 billion in revenue. The headquarters of Red Bull GmbH are located in Fuschl am See, Austrian entrepreneur Dietrich Mateschitz and Thai businessman Chaleo Yoovidhya founded Red Bull GmbH in 1984. While working for German manufacturer Blendax in 1982, Mateschitz traveled to Thailand and met Chaleo and he found that the energy drink Krating Daeng, developed by Chaleos company during the 1970s, helped to ease his jet lag. After seeing market potential in the drink, he partnered with Chaleo in bringing it to Europe, under their agreement, the partners invested $500,000 each into founding Red Bull GmbH. In return, they would receive a 49% stake in the company. They also agreed that Mateschitz would run the company, between 1984 and 1987, Red Bull GmbH modified the formula for Krating Daeng to better match European tastes by carbonating the beverage and making it less sweet. In 1987, the company introduced their adapted energy drink into Austria under the name Red Bull and it found huge success there by marketing to young professionals. The brand expanded throughout Europe during the early 1990s, exploding into the United States market during 1997, the wealth of Red Bulls founders grew with the companys success, and by March 2012, both Chaleo and Mateschitz had estimated net worths of over $5.3 billion each. Today, Red Bull GmbH operates in 167 countries and employs over 10,000 people and its signature product, Red Bull, remains the worlds most-consumed energy drink with 5.2 billion cans sold in 2012. The Red Bull company also distributes and markets a number of drinks including Simply Cola, the Carpe Diem range of herbal soft beverages. In 2010 the company won a legal battle with The Bulldog. The Bulldog was ordered to cease the sale and distribution of its own brand of energy drink, initially, Red Bull distributed free cases of the drink to college students in an attempt at viral advertising. This strategy was successful, resulting in the rapid proliferation of sales. Red Bull has since become known for its sleek marketing targeted at young urban professionals through various sports, the current mottoes, Red Bull Gives You Wings, and No Red Bull, No Wings are direct plays on the apparent stimulating properties of the beverage. In the 1990s, Red Bull sponsored the rower Xeno Müller, the team previously sponsored the Sauber and Arrows Formula One teams, the Red Bull Cheever Racing Team in the IRL, and from 2007 to 2011 Team Red Bull competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Also Red Bull is now sponsoring the Cyberathlete Professional League and its own air racing event called the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge, a competition for driverless cars, was won by a student team from Stanford 2. Gleitschirmfliegen – Paragliding is the recreational and competitive adventure sport of flying paragliders, lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft with no rigid primary structure. The pilot sits in a harness suspended below a fabric wing comprising a number of interconnected baffled cells. Wing shape is maintained by the lines, the pressure of air entering vents in the front of the wing. Despite not using an engine, paragliders flight can last many hours and cover many hundreds of kilometers, by skillful exploitation of sources of lift, the pilot may gain height, often climbing to altitudes of a few thousand meters. Jalbert advanced governable gliding parachutes with multicells and controls for lateral glide, in 1954, Walter Neumark predicted a time when a glider pilot would be able to launch himself by running over the edge of a cliff or down a slope. Whether on a holiday in Skye or ski-ing in the Alps. In 1961, the French engineer Pierre Lemoigne produced improved parachute designs that led to the Para-Commander, the PC had cutouts at the rear and sides that enabled it to be towed into the air and steered – leading to parasailing/parascending. He filed US Patent 3131894 on January 10,1963, about that same time, David Barish was developing the sail wing for recovery of NASA space capsules – slope soaring was a way of testing out. After tests on Hunter Mountain, New York, in September 1965, authors Patrick Gilligan and Bertrand Dubuis wrote the first flight manual, The Paragliding Manual in 1985, officially coining the word paragliding. These developments were combined in June 1978 by three friends, JeanClaude Bétemps, André Bohn and Gérard Bosson, from Mieussy, Haute-Savoie, Bohn followed him and glided down to the football pitch in the valley 1000 metres below. From the 1980s, equipment has continued to improve, and the number of paragliding pilots, the first Paragliding World Championship was held in Verbier, Switzerland, in 1987, though the first officially sanctioned FAI World Championship was held in Kössen, Austria, in 1989. Europe has seen the greatest growth in paragliding, with France alone currently registering over 25,000 active pilots, the paraglider wing or canopy is usually what is known in aeronautical engineering as a ram-air airfoil. Such wings comprise two layers of fabric that are connected to supporting material in such a way as to form a row of cells. By leaving most of the open only at the leading edge, incoming air keeps the wing inflated. When inflated, the wings cross-section has the typical teardrop aerofoil shape, modern paraglider wings are made of high-performance non-porous materials such as ripstop polyester or nylon fabric. In some modern paragliders, especially wings, some of the cells of the leading edge are closed to form a cleaner aerodynamic profile. Holes in the internal ribs allow a flow of air from the open cells to these closed cells to inflate them, and also to the wingtips. The pilot is supported underneath the wing by a network of suspension lines and these start with two sets of risers made of short lengths of strong webbing 3. Abenteuer – An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome, adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as traveling, exploring, skydiving, mountain climbing, scuba diving, river rafting or participating in extreme sports. The term also refers to any enterprise that is potentially fraught with physical, financial or psychological risk, such as a business venture. Adventurous experiences create psychological arousal, which can be interpreted as negative or positive, for some people, adventure becomes a major pursuit in and of itself. According to adventurer André Malraux, in his La Condition Humaine, If a man is not ready to risk his life, similarly, Helen Keller stated that Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Outdoor adventurous activities are undertaken for the purposes of recreation or excitement, examples are adventure racing. Adventure education intentionally uses challenging experiences for learning, some of the oldest and most widespread stories in the world are stories of adventure such as Homers The Odyssey. The knight errant was the form the adventure seeker character took in the late Middle Ages, the adventure novel exhibits these protagonist on adventurous journey characteristics as do many popular feature films, such as Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark. Adventure books may have the theme of the hero or main character going to face the wilderness or Mother Nature, examples include books such as Hatchet or My Side of the Mountain. Many adventures are based on the idea of a quest, the hero goes off in pursuit of a reward, whether it be a skill, prize, on the way, the hero must overcome various obstacles. Mythologist Joseph Campbell discussed his notion of the monomyth in his book, many video games are adventure games. From ancient times, travelers and explorers have written about their adventures, journals which became best-sellers in their day were written, such as Marco Polos journal The Travels of Marco Polo or Mark Twains Roughing It. Others were personal journals, only published, such as the journals of Lewis. Documentaries often use the theme of adventure as well, there are many sports classified as adventure sports, due to their inherent danger and excitement. Some of these include mountain climbing, skydiving, or other extreme sports, list of genres Exploration Tourism Travel Sports Adventure travel What is an adventure. A definition of adventure, hero and epic with an illustration of the heros journey 4. Dokumentarfilm – A documentary film is a nonfictional motion picture intended to document some aspect of reality, primarily for the purposes of instruction, education, or maintaining a historical record. Documentary has been described as a practice, a cinematic tradition. Polish writer and filmmaker Bolesław Matuszewski was among those who identified the mode of documentary film and he wrote two of the earliest texts on cinema Une nouvelle source de lhistoire and La photographie animée. Both were published in 1898 in French and among the written works to consider the historical. Matuszewski is also among the first filmmakers to propose the creation of a Film Archive to collect, the American film critic Pare Lorentz defines a documentary film as a factual film which is dramatic. Others further state that a documentary stands out from the types of non-fiction films for providing an opinion. Documentary practice is the process of creating documentary projects. Documentary filmmaking can be used as a form of journalism, advocacy, early film was dominated by the novelty of showing an event. They were single-shot moments captured on film, a train entering a station and these short films were called actuality films, the term documentary was not coined until 1926. Many of the first films, such as made by Auguste and Louis Lumière, were a minute or less in length. Films showing many people were made for commercial reasons, the people being filmed were eager to see, for payment. One notable film clocked in at over an hour and a half, using pioneering film-looping technology, Enoch J. Rector presented the entirety of a famous 1897 prize-fight on cinema screens across the United States, in May 1896, Bolesław Matuszewski recorded on film few surigical operations in Warsaw and Saint Petersburg hospitals. In 1898, French surgeon EugèneLouis Doyen invited Bolesław Matuszewski and Clément Maurice and they started in Paris a series of surgical films sometime before July 1898. Until 1906, the year of his last film, Doyen recorded more than 60 operations, Doyen said that his first films taught him how to correct professional errors he had been unaware of. These and five other of Doyens films survive, all these short films have been preserved. I must say I forgot those works and I am thankful to you that you reminded them to me, unfortunately, not many scientists have followed your way. Travelogue films were popular in the early part of the 20th century 5. Graz – Graz is the capital of Styria and second-largest city in Austria after Vienna. On 1 January 2017, it had a population of 320,587, in 2014, the population of the Graz Larger Urban Zone who had principal residence status stood at 605,143. Graz has a tradition as a university town, its six universities have more than 44,000 students. Its Old Town is one of the city centres in Central Europe. Politically and culturally, Graz was for more important for Slovenes than Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. In 1999, Graz was added to the UNESCO list of World Cultural Heritage Sites, Graz was sole Cultural Capital of Europe for 2003 and got the title of a City of Culinary Delights in 2008. The name of the city, Graz, formerly spelled Gratz, stems most likely from the Slavic gradec, some archaeological finds point to the erection of a small castle by Alpine Slavic people, which in time became a heavily defended fortification. The name thus follows the common South Slavic pattern for naming settlements as grad, the German name Graz first appears in records in 1128. Graz is situated on the Mur River in the southeast of Austria and it is about 200 km southwest of Vienna. The nearest larger urban center is Maribor in Slovenia which is about 50 km away, Graz is the capital and largest city in Styria, a green and heavily forested area. These towns and villages border Graz, The city of Graz is divided into 17 districts, however, no historical continuity exists of a settlement before the Middle Ages. During the 12th century, dukes under Babenberg rule made the town into an important commercial center, later, Graz came under the rule of the Habsburgs, and in 1281, gained special privileges from King Rudolph I. In the 14th century, Graz became the city of residence of the Inner Austrian line of the Habsburgs, the royalty lived in the Schloßberg castle and from there ruled Styria, Carinthia, most of todays Slovenia, and parts of Italy. In the 16th century, the design and planning were primarily controlled by Italian Renaissance architects and artists. One of the most famous buildings built in style is the Landhaus, designed by Domenico dellAllio. Karl-Franzens-Universität, also called the University of Graz, is the citys oldest university, for most of its existence, it was controlled by the Catholic church, and was closed in 1782 by Joseph II in an attempt to gain state control over educational institutions. Joseph II transformed it into a lyceum where civil servants and medical personnel were trained, in 1827 it was re-instituted as a university by Emperor Franz I, thus gaining the name Karl-Franzens Universität, meaning Charles-Francis University. Over 30,000 students currently study at this university, the astronomer Johannes Kepler lived in Graz for a short period 6. Hannes Arch – Hannes Arch was an Austrian pilot who competed in the 2007 Red Bull Air Race World Series season following a round of qualification held in Phoenix, Arizona during October 2006. He joined 13 other pilots,2 of them also receiving entry after the Arizona qualifying, Arch won the World Championship in the 2008 season. Hannes Arch was born in Leoben, Austria in 1967, hannes Arch died on 8 September 2016 during a helicopter crash in the Austrian Alps during a helicopter delivery of goods to a remote mountain cabin, the Elberfelder Hütte. Shortly after takeoff at about 9, 15pm, the struck the side of a mountain. Arch died of a neck, a passenger survived the crash. Arch was accompanied in the helicopter by the Mountain Huts Owner Reinhard B. a 62-year-old German who runs an Alpine hut which Arch had delivered supplies to, the German was seriously injured in the crash but survived. Hannes Arch was buried in the company of his closest relatives in Troifaiach on 13 September 2016 and he is survived by his girlfriend, Miriam 7. Bassano del Grappa – Bassano del Grappa is a city and comune, in the Vicenza province, in the region Veneto, in northern Italy. It bounds the communes of Cassola, Marostica, Solagna, Pove del Grappa, Romano dEzzelino, Campolongo sul Brenta, Conco, Rosà, Cartigliano and Nove. Some neighbourhoods of these communes have become in practice a part of the area of Bassano. The artist Jacopo Bassano was born, worked, and died in Bassano, Bassano Del Grappa is also famous for inventing the spirit Grappa, traditionally an after-dinner drink made from pomace. The city was founded in the 2nd century BC by a Roman called Bassianus, whence the name, the first news of the existence of the medieval city dates from 998, while the Castle is mentioned first in 1150. In 1368 Bassano was acquired by the Visconti of Milan and was given the status of separated land, the autonomous district included Bassano properly
