PRESS RELEASE – May 29, 2013: 1. WAYWARD JUVENILE – Disorderly Conduct: On May 22nd, 2013 at approximately 9:30 AM, Patrolmen Jeffrey Vaughn arrested a 14-year-old male on a charge Disorderly Conduct after the youth threatened to assault a male staff member at the RYSE Building on the Chariho Campus, and directed a profane outburst towards a female staff member. The youth was returned to the station where he was processed before being released to his mother. He will be petitioned into Family Court on the above charge. 2. WAYWARD JUVENILE – Simple Assault or Battery: On May 24th, 2013 at approximately 12:00 PM, Patrolmen Anthony Zoglio arrested a 15-yearold male on a charge Simple Assault and Battery at the Chariho High School after the administration alerted him to an altercation that had occurred in the hallway. The 15-year-old male had confronted another male student over an alleged rumor about a female student, and then without warning or provocation, punched the youth in the face. The youth was returned to the station where he was processed and released to his mother. He will be petitioned into Family Court on the above charge. 3. Misdemeanor – Motor Vehicle & Transportation of Alcohol by Minor: On May 24th, 2013 at approximately 7:30 PM, Patrolman Jeffrey Vaughn and Lieutenant John Arnold arrested David G. Malek, age 20, of 29 Hemlock Road, South Kingstown, RI on charges of (1) Operating on a Suspended License and (2) Transportation of Alcohol by Minor, during a Shoulder Tap Enforcement detail funded by a federal grant through the Chariho Task Force to enforce underage alcohol violations. Mr. Malek drove away from an area liquor store parking lot without wearing his seat belt and was stopped on Main Street, which revealed that he had a suspended driver’s license in Wisconsin, and an expired RI driver’s license. Mr. Malek was processed at the station and was subsequently released with a summons to appear for arraignment in 4th District Court on the above charges. Press Release for May 29, 2013

4. Misdemeanor - Motor Vehicle: On May 26, 2013 at approximately 4:15 PM, Corporal William Litterio arrested Jamieson Bernard, age 21, of 24 North Fair Street, Warwick, on a charge of Operating with a Suspended License, after a motor vehicle stop on Route 2 revealed that his license had been suspended on March 5, 2013, for Failure to Appear/Pay Fines. Mr. Bernard was transported to the station, processed, and was released with a summons to appear for arraignment in 4th District Court on June 27th, 2013, relative to the above charge. 5. Misdemeanor – DUI (BAC Unknown): On May 26th, 2013, at 9:15 PM, Corporal William Litterio, assisted by Patrolman Steven Gravier, arrested Elisabeth J. Armstrong, age 24, of 66 Carver Lane, Narragansett on a charge of (1) Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/ or Drugs (1st Offense – BAC unknown), and (2) Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test, after a motor vehicle stop on Church Street. Ms. Armstrong was processed and released with a summons to appear for arraignment in 4 th District Court on June 27th, 2013, relative to the above charges. 6. Misdemeanor-Disorderly Conduct: On May 27th, 2013 at approximately 6:45 PM, Patrolman Steven Gravier, assisted by Corporal William Litterio, arrested Jeffrey Hutton, age 20, of 45 Pleasant View Drive, Hopkinton on a charge of Disorderly Conduct, after officers were dispatched to an address on Tall Timbers Drive for a disturbance. Investigation at the scene revealed that Mr. Hutton had engaged in aggressive and tumultuous conduct towards female occupants of the home during a heated verbal dispute. Mr. Hutton was arrested and transported to the station where he was processed and subsequently released with a summons to appear for arraignment in 4th District Court on the above charge. 7. Misdemeanor - Motor Vehicle: On May 27th, 2013 at approximately 8:30 PM, Corporal William Litterio arrested Terri L Carlson, age 35, of 47 Pepperbush Trail, Saunderstown, on a charge of Operating with a Suspended License, after a motor vehicle stop on Kingstown Road revealed that her license had been suspended in April 2013 for Failure to Appear/Pay Fines. Ms. Carlson was released at the scene with a summons to appear for arraignment in 4th District Court on June 27th, 2013, relative to the above charge.
