Note From the Pastor Dear friends, For a long time parishioners have asked more hours of adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament. We began Lent by instituting daily adoration from the end of 7 AM Mass till 9:30 AM (except Thursday, when adoration continues until 12:15 PM Mass). This has been well received. This week we begin all-night Adoration on First Fridays, extending from the end of 7:30 PM Spanish Mass till Saturday morning Mass at 7:30 AM. There will be prayers, hymns, readings, intercessions for peace in Salinas … and lots of silence. Prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament will bring more Light to us, our families, our parish and our town. Come and see! Also … next Saturday Sacred Heart will join other churches in SALINAS UNITED: A City-wide Walk for Health & Safety. Read more about it in today’s bulletin. Among other places, participants can meet here at Sacred Heart at 9AM for a stroll to the local fire station. This free city-wide walk seeks to build stronger ties between the City of Salinas and its residents while promoting volunteer opportunities and activities. Each fire station will feature a pancake breakfast associated with tours, displays and activities. If another starting place is nearer your home, feel free to join people there. Hope you are all observing Lent. If you’re not … it’s certainly not too late to begin! Peace and All Good!
Una nota del Párroco Queridos amigos, Durante mucho tiempo los feligreses han pedido más horas de adoración frente al Santísimo Sacramento. Hemos comenzado la cuaresma por establecer la adoración diaria a partir del final de la misa de 7 AM hasta las 9:30 AM (excepto los jueves, cuando la adoración continua hasta la misa de 12: 15 PM). Esto ha sido bien recibido. Esta semana comenzamos la adoración por toda la noche el primer viernes, extendiendo desde el final de la misa de 7:30 PM en español hasta la misa por la mañana de las 7:30 AM. Habrá oraciones, cantos, lecturas, oración universal por la paz en Salinas ... y mucho silencio. La oración afrente al Santísimo Sacramento traerá más luz a nosotros, a nuestras familias, a nuestra parroquia y a nuestro pueblo. ¡Venga y vea! Además ... el próximo sábado el Sagrado Corazón se unirá a otras iglesias en SALINAS UNITED (UNIDOS EN SALINAS): Una caminata por toda la ciudad por la salud y seguridad. Lea más al respecto en el boletín de hoy. Entre otros lugares, los participantes pueden reunirse aquí en el Sagrado Corazón a las 9AM para caminar hasta la estación local de bomberos. Esta caminata libre en toda la ciudad busca construir lazos más fuertes entre los residentes de la ciudad de Salinas y la promoción de oportunidades para actividades voluntarias. Cada estación de bomberos contará con un desayuno de "panqueis" con un recorrido por la estación, exposiciones y actividades. Si hay otro punto de partida más cercana de su casa, favor de unirse con la gente allí. Espero que todos ustedes estén observando la cuaresma. ¡Y si no... ciertamente no es demasiado tarde para empezar! ¡Paz y Todo Bien!
