Benefits During the content activation process, your existing solution documentation content will be transferred to the new structures in SAP Solution Manager 7.2. This gives you more flexibility and improved handling in managing your content. Improved structuring Structuring your content with folders dramatically improves the flexibility. You can perfectly adapt your business process documentation to your needs, with as many levels as you like.
By storing elements in separated libraries, a high amount of standardization and clear structuring is achieved. By consequently using references to the original elements, duplicates in the process documentation are needed.
Automatically filling up libraries saves manual efforts and speeds up your solution documentation. This also ensures a comprehensive and consistent documentation as all elements are documented automatically.

Define Scope for Content Activation
Define Scope for Content Activation Solution Documentation: Select Projects and Solutions according to the following criteria Select projects and solutions that contain valid documentation content reflecting the productive landscape or ongoing projects
Avoid selecting solutions or projects which contain outdated content Avoid selecting redundant copies of solution or projects
ChaRM / QGM: Select Projects and Solutions according to the following criteria Select projects that contain actively used cycles
Options for Content Activation Choose productive base branch as activation target for content reflecting the productive landscape Choose a maintenance or development branch target for content corresponding to processes or functions that are not yet part of the productive landscape
The SAP Solution Manager Team plans to make the 7.2 release available in the SAP Cloud Appliance Library (CAL) as a free demo system at ramp-up start (or earlier) SAP plans to preload the 7.2 appliance with various sample projects which customers can use for activation
SAP is checking whether customer projects can be uploaded into the appliance SAP provides the appliance without CAL charges. Customers only need an AWS, Azure or HEC account to test drive the SAP Solution Manager cloud appliance for 30 days.
Just ring the “CAL’s BELLS” and you are “ABOUT TO ROCK” the 7.2 content activation!
Solution Documentation: Tailored to your needs With SAP Solution Manager 7.2, you can tailor your Solution Documentation exactly to your needs. For example, if you do not need full-blown end-to-end process documentation, you can go ahead with a process step library.
Time
The general levels are: Generated
Executables Library: SAP Solution Manager 7.2 will fill up your Exec.Lib. automatically without any manual effort. It can also generate process steps for each executable.
Process
Step Library: You can manually enrich process steps with test cases, documents etc. This is fully sufficient if you want to do functional testing, for example.
End-to-end
business process documentation: Can be used for full-blown end-to-end testing. A manual creation implies a higher effort.
Special Mapping Features - 1 Documents (Knowledge Warehouse) Physical document are kept unchanged Signatures are kept History is continued in 7.2 with new lifecycle versioning mechanism
Shortcuts There is an option to either ignore or else disband internal respectively external shortcuts Shortcuts to process steps are mapped to usages of the process step original
Component View The component views are mapped to new process diagrams The diagram layout is rearranged
Interfaces Interface scenarios and technical interface assignments are mapped to the interface library Interface assignments in the component view are mapped to assignment in the new process diagrams
