Jungle trekking is one of the best ways to get closer to the nature. A jungle trekking event to explore Hutan Sintok was organised by the School of Business Management Staff Club with the theme “SBM Family Walk”. The opportunity to discover the exotic flora and fauna around Hutan Sintok was led by the Dean of SBM, Prof. Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah. A total of 40 participants including SBM faculty members and administrative staff and SBM postgraduate students were present. The two kilometre route begins with an easy and less tiring to a more energy sapping adventure towards the end. Along the way, participants stopped at checkpoints, to re-energize while having a self-reflection session initiated by several participants on a voluntary basis. The Dean of SBM expressed his appreciation to the club’s committee for the effort in organizing this event. According to the Dean, “walking, hiking or trekking is a great way to discover and appreciate this wonderful world we live in. It also gives us the opportunity to discover ourselves and those who walk with us”. He further added a word of advice "Walk alone if you want to go fast, but walk together if you want to go far. We can achieve excellence if we are together”. Overall, it was a very thrilling and adventurous experience for all who have participated in the event.
