IV Sets Key stats worth increasing through nature if possible. Complementary stats that matter, but not to the point of picking them over key stats for nature increase. Relatively worthless stat that can safely be decreased through nature.

Attack and Speed are her major boons for obvious reasons. If you have to pick between two, then Speed should always be prioritized since it opens up more build options and improve her survivability. For bane stats, both HP and Res do not have a -4 bane, and thus can both be a viable bane for Soleil. Res is the weaker stats of the two, due to HP also helping her physical bulk.

Introduction Inheriting all the best qualities from both her father and her grandmother, Soleil is a great red sword infantries with an incredible offensive firepower. Despite being in an overly bloated niche, Soleil still manage to standout with the highest base Attack among Sword users and a base 35 Speed with a respectable bulk against both type of damage. As a result, Soleil is a great competitor against other speedy high damage output Player Phase monsters like Ayra or Mia, and can also be a decent Enemy's Phase unit if the players decide to gear her toward that route. Overall, Soleil is a great unit to have in any Player's roster, and though her investment requirements might be a bit steep, she will do a great job regardless of what she runs.
Strengths Incredible base Attack: Soleil possess 38 Attack at base, the highest among all Sword users Good base Speed: Though not on the level of Mia and Ayra, 35 base Speed is a great start. Combined with her incredible Attack, she has a wide array of options in term of skill choices Decent mixed bulk due to: A combination of 37 HP / 28 Defense / 24 Resistance might not seems too impressive on paper, but once factoring in her Speed and the HP buff from forged weapon, Soleil will be quite tough to one round unless against Brave weapons users
Weaknesses Require steep investments to be optimal: Outside of Firesweep Sword, her other default skills leave a lot to be desired. All of her Player's Phase builds and Enemy's Phase builds require expensive skills to reach her highest potential.
Team Options Linde / Delthea / Brave Lucina / Ephraim / Performing Azura: Potent buffers that also cover other colors. Having one in a team will vastly improve Soleil's firepower. Dancers / Singers: Not many units that do not benefit from the presence of a Dancer/Singer in the team and Soleil is no exception.
Counters Physically bulky blue units with good attack can take Soleil's attack and kill her with their counterattacks. Notable examples are units like Effie, Nowi, Shiro, Brave Lucina or Tana Soleil does not fare well against Brave weapons due to her middling Defense and Resistance. Reinhardt is her biggest counter due to his oppressive Player's Phase offense. Other notable examples include units like Brave Lyn, Bridal Cordelia, Cordelia, Hinoka, Elincia. If Soleil goes with Enemy's Phase build, Firesweep users can be a major threat to her.

+SPD Soleil is perfectly suited for Firesweep and Darting Blow (which she already has) build. +ATK is great for Death Blow and Brave Sword. Can't believe one of my favourite children from Fates has such crazy stats. 2

high STR or not, I just dont see any reason to use her over Ayra or Mia at this point. Her kit is generic with no unique skills/legendary weapons to boot. 3

The main thing she has above Ayra and Elincia is her weapon--there's no risk of counterattack so she can just get in, get the kill and get out. If she doesn't kill then a B-Slot like Drag Back or HnR can assure another teammate finishes the job for her; either that, or she can get danced on and finish it herself. Yeah brave sword would work with -spd, I gave my water blessing to soliel mainly to sp farm really fast (48 sp for a kill in arena if she was with fjorm and Gray) but with the blessing it also let's her hit 46 spd with squad d 3 before buffs • Reply • Share ›

It is the pitfall of any gacha or similar collecting game, because they have an incentive towards making new units better than previous ones. This is a game based of of Fire Emblem games, with the majority of players given it any thought because of the IP. It's likely that seeing their favorit hero(es) fall from grace due to power creep will not make them more inclined to get the newer more powerful heroes, but rather just quit altogether. 6
