7.1 World Languages All students will be able to use a world language in addition to English to engage in meaningful conversation, to understand and interpret spoken and written language, and to present information, concepts, and ideas, while also gaining an understanding of the perspectives of other cultures. Communication is the ability to understand and be understood in real world contexts. Language and culture are mutually independent. Learning languages provides connections to additional bodies of knowledge. Learning languages allows students to realize there are multiple ways of viewing the world. Language students have the ability to participate in multilingual communities.

Mi gobierno: The students will create a political campaign. (as a written/speaking unit exam) Class debate Immigration VS government(As a speaking exam) Food and physical activity journal project(The student will write in a daily basic what they eat and types, amount and frequency of physical activities) Project “The perfect diet” Health brochure project(Healthy food and quality physical activities) as a unit exam. Yo en el futuro: Students will make a skit about what they want to be when they finish high school and the impact they could have in their community(Individual project) Debate: Vocation VS profit. (as a unit oral assessment) “Professions in 2050”(as a unit written exam) Class presentation on superstitions in Spanish speaking courtiers.(as a group written/oral project) Mi leyenda: Students will create puppets and present an original story to the class(as an oral presentation) Oral written exam Students will present a traditional and contemporary song and a piece of art and dance from a Spanish –speaking country(as a unit exam)

Health/Biology; Relation between diet and health, Physiological and psychological reasons for a good health Career and technical Education: Comparing and contrasting careers and professions in order to make an appropriate decision. English: Study of Latin American writers and their work, reading and analysis of myth and legend and its importance for the society.
Technology Integration Use of computers, projector, IPods, to obtain useful information for the class and for the presentation of projects/activities.
