Dear Ms Raji I am writing to you on behalf of the Executive Committee at Students’ Union Royal Holloway University of London following a motion which as passed at our General Meeting by Asma Farah. We are aware that you are currently involved in a dispute with your university following the unfair removal of your fee waiver and maintenance scholarship by the Leeds ICS. According to the motion submitted by Asma, you are also denied a hearing with the committee to present your evidence, hear the evidence of the ICS and defend yourself against their accusations. From what we can see there was no just reason for the cutting of your scholarship and the denial of your right to have a hearing by the appeals committee is undemocratic and a breach of your human rights. All students should be treated fairly and should have the right to challenge their university, whether they are home students or international students. We send our full solidarity to you and your campaign, particularly that of your appeal to remain in the UK until your case with the OIA is completed. Please keep in touch with us about the campaign and let us know how SURHUL can help promote it further. I will publish this letter alongside a blog stating SURHUL’s support – please feel free to share it. Yours in Unity,
Jamie Green Vice President, Communications and Campaigns On Behalf of the Executive Committee
