Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP) WRAP is revolutionising the clothing industry, using collective action to minimise the environmental impact of our clothes. Our industry-led action plan delivers positive environmental and economic outcomes to organisations, by reducing carbon, water and waste through the SCAP 2020 Commitment. Join us on our mission and start taking action:

Resource efficient business models Resource efficient business models are key to creating commercial value from sustainable business practices and offer organisations the chance to develop new revenue streams and new product offerings from resources that would have previously been considered waste. To find out how to implement resource efficient business models and realise more value from your resources, take a look at WRAP’s expert guidance:

Design for extending clothing life Organisations across the supply chain could cut up to 3% of their carbon, water and waste impact by making clothes that last just three months longer. Clothing designed to withstand wear and tear and to appeal to the customer for longer, promotes brand loyalty, confidence, and customer satisfaction as well as having positive impacts on the environment. To find out how your organisation can benefit from designing, producing and selling clothing which has a longer life at the required price points, you can use WRAP's key guidance, advice and initiatives:

Fibre and fabric selection Fibre and fabric selection is key to improving sustainability, reducing carbon, water and waste footprints and increasing the useable life of a piece of clothing. By using longer-lasting, more durable and less resource intensive fibres and fabrics in their products, organisations can increase customer satisfaction through extending clothing life, and increase rates of re-use in second-hand clothing. To find out how your organisation can benefit from using more sustainable fibres and fabrics, you can use WRAP's key guidance and advice:

Consumer behaviour and sustainable clothing Through Love Your Clothes, WRAP is investigating consumer attitudes to sustainable products as well as encouraging consumers to take a more sustainable approach to clothing. By using WRAP’s research, organisations can gain valuable consumer insights and use these insights to market more durable, sustainable and less resource intensive products to consumers.

Re-use and recycling Organisations in the clothing industry can find new opportunities and develop fresh revenue streams by capturing some of the clothing that is discarded, with more than 25% of post-consumer clothing ending up in the household waste bin. The SCAP voluntary agreement enables re-use organisations, reprocessors and local authorities to build effective partnerships, gain advice on good practice and implement schemes to increase collection rates. To find out how your organisation can benefit from increasing re-use and recycling, take a look at WRAP's gudiance and advice on:
