The Thread Studio Newsletter Number 115 February 2014
Hello Everyone - Wow – it is February already –I have only just taken the Christmas Cards down but that was mostly because I have
only just finished writing them for 2013. Australia in January has had its usual plethora of weather and of course, the same everywhere else in the world. At least weather is always a good talking point. We have been at home throughout January trying to use our time wisely. Lots of new happenings as always but time to spend with friends and family and some relaxing as well. We hope you have had a wonderful month too.

Magazines
Colour
Moonglow Section
Magazines which have arrived this month: Quilting Arts, Stitch, Art Journaling, Altered Couture, Somerset Studio, Apron.ology and Stuffed. Quite a few of these have sold out already. We don’t bring in heaps of extras and we are always sorry when people are disappointed – it really does pay to preorder. To see what we have in stock, just check the magazines section. In most cases there are only 1 or 2 of any issues left in stock
Ian has been working very hard on the Moonglow section of the catalogue – updating the colour charts – moving the discontinued colours into Going Going and adding new colours. Lots more to come so do call by from time to time. We will be adding more of our exclusive sets to match our own colour schemes – I do love colour. Plus at the top of the page you will find a special set for each month. February’s set is Indian Splendour.
Liquitex Mediums
Flexible Modeling Paste I am having such a lot of fun using this – through stencils and to stamp into – then I have coloured it with my favourite Sprays and stitched. It just gives that extra surface texture.
Experimentation Lino cutting tools
Set of six different cutting tools to use for carving and shaping. They work well with the Ezy Carve Printing Blocks.
Lumi Inko Products
Rub-onz Transfer Film
Check out the new Lumi Inko products we have. This company was in the top 10 for new products at CHA in Los Angeles this past month. The Cleanline Washable Resist is a product which people have told me is brilliant. And the Inkodyes apparently work exceptionally well.
As seen in Cloth Paper Scissors issue 50 Design your own quick and easy with Grafix Rub-onz Transfer Film. Use your favourite fonts, photos and clip art to create one of kind rub-ons perfect on multiple surfaces I have also had a chance to try this out – very easy to transfer images from printing on it – stamping on it – drawing on it.

Monthly Explosions.
chiffon sari ribbons. We are slowly adding them to the website – personal shoppers have been enjoying these.
Embellished Sari Ribbons
During January we added a mixed Media Kit to the website and the response was fabulous. As a result, we are planning a monthly explosion spot on the web where we will load some super kits and the like – very limited numbers which will disappear once they are sold. Check out February Explosions for this month - not quite on web yet. Won’t be long.
These are full of sequins and embroidery – fabulous to add to your felting and in any surface work for that little extra.
Over dyed sari ribbons
Just arrived – these are patterned fabrics which have been over dyed – for something different. In catalogue soon.
