COURSE DESCRIPTION: A study of organization and administration procedures in conducting track and field competitions. The discussion and application of the physiological components, biomechanical principles, error detection/correction and training program design of track and field events. prerequisite: UWO School of Kinesiology Track and Field: Level One or permission of the instructor. COURSE OBJECTIVES 1. To experience the officiating and administrative requirements associated with the running of a track and field competition. 2. To learn the key rules of track and field competitions. 3. To examine some scientific and empirical principles and their applications to the development of specific track and field events. 4. To develop training programs for specific track and field events.
