Mrs. Ding had some work done in our bathroom. It all looks real swell. However, they changed all the plumbing. Along with this change, was the old shower head. They installed a new and improved, water saving shower head. I am finding it actually wastes water. It gives a restricted flow of water, I can barely feel the water hitting my skin, and it actually takes me 2-3 times longer to shower. I gotta be using more water. Does anyone know where to get the good ole shower heads, that really supply some water. Or is there a way to adapt the one we have now, to stop restricting the flow. It is taking me so long to shower, I find I must eat before showering. It takes me so long to shower, I am missing meals. The only other way to deal with this situation is to stop using soap. This wouldn't be good. Thanks for any help, in advance. HAPPY DAYS.
Ding

Well, as far as modifying your current showerhead, it might be as simple as removing an insert...Or you might be required to drill out the restriction...I can't tell ya more without looking at the thing...

I went to those restricted flow/water saving heads about 15 years ago. I admit that it takes awhile to get used to them but it's worth it!!! Give it a chance, I bet you change your opinion! I know they save on hot water usage. BTW: It's not that these heads give so little water. It's that the old one gave far too much! Think about it. You will save money!

chlstn, Yes, they do pump less gallons per hour. However, I am taking showers 2-3 times as long. So, in the long run, I think I am wasting water, with the water saver. Now, if they were to make shampoo and soap less sticky, I could save some water. Of course, if I were to skip the soaping, and rinsing cycle, I could save all kinds of money. I can imagine fly season would take on a whole new meaning for me, and everyone around me. Now take into consideration that I probably take at least 365 showers per year. That alone is alot of time in the shower. Now, if my shower time has increased 3 times longer. I am now spending the same time in the shower, per year, that I used to spend in the shower, over a 3 year period. This will definitely put a dent in my social life, and all other aspects of life. My hair will fall out, my teeth will fall out, I will no doubt break out in a rash, and have nerve damage. I just think it best, to get the water pressure back into my shower. Thanks and have a HAPPY DAY.

Krazy8, I am down under 245 lbs. I have been as high as 275 when I was heavy into lifting. When I stopped lifting, I dropped down to hover around 260. Now, with dieting, and I have started lifting again, I have dropped to within 245. So, my surface area has decreased, however my johnson does seem to be getting it's second wind. Although I do not spend too much time scrubbing my johnson, as this can also lead to longer showers. As I do appreciate your concern in me, could you please give me the proper mathematical procedure to figure out how much time and water should I be using to shower one Ding. Thanks and have a HAPPY DAY.

Ding depending on whose make it is there should be a plastic flow restricter you can pull out with a needle nose plyers. You have to take the shower head off and look inside.

Ding I really don't think your problems are physical. The more of your drivel I read on here the more I suspect the problem is from the neck up.Maybe there is a psychiatrist on the board that will answer all your pleas for help.

Bill, It is a Moen. On the front of it is printed 2.5 GPM 9.464 min Max A112.18.1M UPC Is this one of the ones with the restricter, and if so, how do you take these things apart without breaking them. HAPPY DAYS.
