Assessment with a Montessori Lens Formative Assessment is the cornerstone of teacher assessment practices in the Montessori classroom. Didactic materials, record-keeping, and observation are part of everyday life in the classroom. Teachers are continuously assessing: ○ if a student understood the lessons ○ if a student has mastered a material ○ if a student needs additional instruction and practice ○ if a student is ready for more challenging work
