With growing importance for quality legal education, various national law schools acquired lot of importance. DSNLU was established in the year 2008 by an Official Notification Gazette of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The object of Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University is to build on the traditional ethos of Andhra Pradesh and create a temple of learning. It aims at imparting quality legal education and advance research in all the branches of law. ABOUT CARDS The Centre for Advanced Research in Dispute Settlement (CARDS) is poised to serve for the Study of Arbitration and Conciliation and as an education & research symposium for individuals interested in Dispute Resolution. Building on the Society’s recognized expertise in this emerging field, the Center proposes to serve as an imperative Research and Education resource, providing cutting-edge, adept information-cum-analysis on notable issues and current developments in the international arbitration field. The Centre has a vision to incorporate various ADR activities and develop the required skills through induction sessions, workshops and training sessions for the student fraternity. It aims to instill a thirst for knowledge and ways to quench it.
PAST ACTIVITIES 1. PARI PASSU-BOOK PUBLICATION Marking the inauguration of CARDS, ‘PARI PASSU- Keeping Arbitration on an Equal footing with Adjudication’- a CARDS publication which has compilation of articles by distinguished authors showcasing the diversity of approach in Arbitration, was released by Justice Datuk Dr. Haji Hamid Sultan bin Abu Backer, Judge, Court of Appeal, Malaysia and in the auspicious presence of Mr Moazzam Khan and Ms Neeti Sachdeva. 2. 3-DAY COURSE ON INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION IN VIZAG CARDS conducted the first edition of its ‘Arbitration Weekends’ i.e the 3-Day Course on International Arbitration from 25 th -27th October, 2016. The event was graced by stalwarts of Arbitration who were the mentors for the course. With a cap of 60 participants, the event was an enriching experience for healthy interactions on the subject.
