TPM and RCM Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a strategy for improving productivity via improved maintenance practices including maintaining plant and equipment function, while Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) has as a primary objective to preserve system function. Therefore, critical systems and equipment must be inspected and tested regularly to ensure preservation. It is good practice to review and combine both methodologies to your maintenance program as they can potentially lead to better processes, improvement in teamwork, improved production output, and lower costs.
