Our Mentors are highly skilled men and women who have extensive training and experience working with adolescents. Our adolescent mentoring program is specifically designed to provide young people with the resources and support to successfully launch them into the next phase of their recovery and life.

Through his own journey of recovery, Asher Gottesman realized a life of service was his best role. With a vision to transform the paradigm of recovery to reflect a community of love, support, and celebration, he stared Transcend in 2009 with one sober living home in Venice, CA. Today, Transcend operates nine sober living homes across Los Angeles, New York, and Houston, and offers a range of supplemental recovery support services such as mentoring and sober-coaching. With the guiding philosophy of, “helping people help themselves”, Transcend Recovery Community helps individuals achieve a lifestyle in recovery that is dynamic, interconnected, and meaningful.
Ryan David Leaf is an advocate for those struggling with mental and behavioral health issues, and works to remove the stigma around mental health issues and addiction. Before working with Transcend Recovery Community, he was one of the most promising collegiate football players of his time, and rivaled Peyton Manning for the Heisman trophy. In 1998, he was the number 2 pick in the NFL draft behind Peyton Manning. Ryan now travels across the United States speaking to communities about his story of recovery. Ryan’s experience captures the transparency and authenticity that Transcend Recovery Community is founded upon.
Every year, Transcend Recovery Community throws an all-out Halloween party for the entire sober community. We open our doors to those who are looking for a sober night of good music, dancing, and most importantly, fun! Our annual bash has earned itself the reputation of being one of the largest sober events during Halloween, complete with a live DJ, dance floor, videographer, and photo booth. We believe in creating experiences for our community that are vibrant, fun, and, engaging. Getting sober does not mean that the party’s over!
