Course Name: Financial Accounting Theory Course Description: The purpose of this course is to study accounting theory in more depth than in previous courses. Topics include a study of the history of accounting, various approaches to the formulation of accounting theory, conceptual framework for accounting, various income concepts for financial reporting, the accounting standards setting process, and international accounting. Learning Outcomes:

1. Knowledge and understanding The student is familiar with the main accountings theories The student can analyze and critique the main theories 2. Practical ability and skills The student can analyze GAAP, IFRS and the relationship to accounting theories The student can explain the use/need of accounting theories 3. Theoretical ability The student can explain the main premises of theories of accoutning theories The student can compare and analyze the use of accoutning theories regarding GASP and IFRS 4. Communication skills and information literacy The student can express himself about theories verbally and in writing
