EXPERIENCE: I completed 33 years of teaching anthropology and archaeology at Western Illinois University (Macomb, Illinois), Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), and Ohio State University (Mansfield Center) in 1999. My research career focused on the archaeology of Southeastern USA; Yucatán, Mexico; northern Honduras; and Cotobato Province, Mindanao, Philippines. In order to facilitate my research, the Middle American Research Institute, Tulane University, the Precolumbian Art Research Institute of San Francisco, and the Philippine National Museum kindly granted me honorary positions in their organizations. I was an investigator for the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History between 1975 and 1980 working on archaeological atlas projects. POSITIONS HELD: Professor Emeritus, Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Western Illinois University, 1999 – present. I was hired as an Assistant Professor on Septermber 13, 1971, promoted to Associate Professor in 1973, granted tenure in 1974 and advanced to the rank of professor in 1979.
