Dear friends of Jesus and Brendan, "Not as man sees does God see because man sees the appearance but the Lord looks into the heart." Such powerful words from I Samuel 16.7 on this 4th Sunday in Lent as we prepare to proclaim the Gospel of the man born blind. This is the Sunday for sight and insight made possible by Jesus, our Light! Wouldn't it be wonderful to see ourselves and one another as God sees us? Wouldn't it create greater respect and build the peace of God in the world. How do you see yourself? How do you see those around you? Hopefully with the eyes of faith, with the eyes of Christ, with the eyes of love! Let us pray for the insight born of faith that allows us to see as God sees! LUMEN CHRISTI! CHRIST, OUR LIGHT! This weekend we celebrate the 2nd scrutiny and exorcism with John Chan and Maribel Cardoso. Let us continue to pray for them and for all the candidates for the Easter Sacraments and for each other that our hearts be prepared to celebrate the Resurrection, to celebrate the Easter Sacraments, and to renew our Baptismal Promises. This weekend our Girl Scouts are selling Girl Scout cookies... please buy a box or two. 7 of the scouts have recently achieved the highest religious award in scouting. We hope to have the award ceremony here. Samantha Rabanal is working on the highest award in scouting and will be asking for help from us. Let's support her efforts! Work has begun on the exterior of the top floor of the school and should take a total of ten days... ConEd has begun replacing all the light bulbs in the auditorium, the gym, and the parish hall. They will soon begin replacing lights in the church and the rectory. This project, at a reasonable cost to us, should provide substantial savings to the parish. Please continue being faithful to the Generations of Faith Campaign and to the weekly collection. Our new Website designed by DeSales Media should be up and running in a few days. It will be a great service to the parish. Don't forget Eucharistic Adoration... Jesus is waiting! Peace and Lenten blessings,

Father Peter

LENTEN REGULATIONS Abstinence from meat is observed on Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all the Fridays of Lent by all Catholics 14 years of age and older. Fasting is observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all those between the ages of 18 and 59. Those bound by this rule may take only one full meal, with two smaller meals permitted. Eating between meals is not permitted. Easter Duty All those who have received their First Eucharist are bound by the obligation of receiving Communion at least once a year. This precept must be fulfilled (unless for a good reason) between the First Sunday of Lent (March 5th) and Trinity Sunday (June 11th).

Go to Confession. BETHLEHEM CHRISTIAN FAMILIES On the weekend of April 1st & 2nd, our brothers and sisters representing the Bethlehem Christian Families; a non profit organization through Land of Peace will be with us speaking about the Christian situation in the Holy Land and selling Crucifixes, religious art work, and rosaries-all made of olive wood which is native to Israel and Bethlehem. Since tourism has greatly depleted, Christian families in the holy land, who depend on tourists, have been greatly affected. The goal of this mission is to build a Charitable Hospital in Bethlehem and help poor and needy families in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Sale of these goods will help them very much and also give you the opportunity to have “something” authentic from the holy land. Please browse and buy some articles. It is for a good cause and also a help to your personal devotion. For more info Website: www.landofpeace.org and www.bcfmission.com

LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA Lunes: Is 65:17-21; Sal 30 (29):2, 4-6, 11-13b; Jn 4:43-54 Martes: Ez 47:1-9, 12; Sal 46 (45):2-3, 5-6, 8-9; Jn 5:1-16 Miércoles: Is 49:8-15; Sal 145 (144):8-9, 13cd-14, 17-18; Jn 5:17-30 Jueves: Ex 32:7-14; Sal 106 (105):19-23; Jn 5:31-47 Viernes: Sab 2:1a, 12-22; Sal 34 (33):17-21, 23; Jn 7:1-2, 10, 25-30 Sábado: Jer 11:18-20; Sal 7:2-3, 9bc-12; Jn 7:40-53 Domingo: Ez 37:12-14; Sal 130 (129):1-8; Rom 8:8-11; Jn 11:1-45 [3-7, 17, 20-27, 33b-45] V ENCUENTRO
